Nutrition Services at Richmond Natural Medicine

Good nutrition is essential for a healthy body, mind, and spirit and plays a key role in preventing chronic diseases. From a holistic perspective, there’s no one-size-fits-all diet. Nutrition should be tailored to your unique needs, including your body, background, health history, and personal wellness goals. Perhaps most importantly, having a better understanding of how to nourish yourself really empowers you to make informed decisions for lifelong health.

Nutritional deficiencies are linked to many serious conditions, including heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes. But beyond that, good nutrition influences mood, gut health, appearance, energy, recovery, mental clarity, and overall vitality. What we eat affects EVERY organ system. With so much at stake, it’s worth understanding just exactly what we’re putting into our bodies.

At Richmond Natural Medicine, our naturopathic doctors use holistic nutrition as one of many tools to support patients with various health concerns.

Existing patients can meet with Blair Doucette, MScN, who provides in-house nutrition consults for added support. Blair has a Master’s in Nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine. She works one-on-one with patients to create personalized nutrition plans aligned with their health needs and goals.

What to Expect From a Nutrition Appointment

The initial nutrition consultation is a 60-minute discussion covering your clinical history, any areas of specific health concerns, and past and current diagnoses. Blair will work to get to know your current diet and health goals. An emphasis is placed on providing a sustainable and individualized plan based on your history, current health concerns, lifestyle, and budget. We focus primarily on incorporating more whole foods into your diet that provide targeted health benefits for your specific concerns.
